DefineMe Wins “Hair Care Product of the Year” In 2021 Beauty Innovation Awards Program – PR Web

We take pride in thinking outside of the box. We add fractionated coconut oil to our fragrance mists because we’ve found that it helps the scent last longer and it takes the sharp edge off the alcohol – Jennifer McKay Newton, Founder & CEO, DefineMe

The Independent Innovation Awards Program, the industry’s most robust recognition platform for the innovators and leaders of the Beauty industry, today announced that Hair Fragrance Mist from DefineMe, offering a collection of scents that embody inspirational personalities, has been selected as winner of the “Hair Care Product of the Year” award in the 2021 Awards Program. The Independent Innovation Awards program aims to evaluate and recognize the most outstanding and innovative companies, services, and products within the rapidly expanding beauty industry.

DefineMe’s Hair Fragrance Mists add shine, nutrients and a choice of six different scents to hair while providing anti-frizz protection. Using only the best natural ingredients, these hair fragrance mists are made from DefineMe’s own fragrance blend with natural and essential oils, panthenol, chamomile extract, aloe vera and a touch of coconut oil.

Panthenol (D-panthenol) aka Provitamin B5 helps smooth the hair creating an anti-frizz effect. Being a humectant and emollient, it leaves the hair looking shiny and feeling silky. Aloe vera, which is abundant in vitamins and minerals, provides a soothing, moisturizing, and protective effect on the hair, as it rejuvenates, adds elasticity and strength, and prevents breakage. Chamomile Extract also strengthens hair and protects it from easy damage while improving shine. Coconut oil’s nourishing properties absorb quickly and provide moisture to tame frizz and heal breakage.

DefineMe’s hair fragrance mists are made without phthalates, BHT, parabens, dyes or sulfates. They are also PETA certified vegan and cruelty-free. Even the packaging is made out of sustainable, reusable and recyclable components, made locally. Additionally, the fragrances work on all hair types and blend well with other hair products such as dry shampoo or hair oils.

Lastly, for every bottle purchased, one dollar goes towards educational scholarships for young women in developing countries.

“The idea came when I was told again and again that people were spraying perfume in their hair and I could only think how drying and damaging that is. We try to think about what’s new and how we can improve our products – everything we do is vegan and cruelty-free -but it makes sense because the hair is a great carrier for scent. So I set out to create a product that would not only make your hair smell amazing but would also help nourish and prevent it from being damaged,” said Jennifer McKay Newton, Founder & CEO, DefineMe. “We take pride in thinking outside of the box. We add fractionated coconut oil to our fragrance mists because we’ve found that it helps the scent last longer and it takes the sharp edge off the alcohol. We are so grateful for this recognition from Beauty Innovation as we strive to continue to inspire and empower our valued customers.”

The competition is relentless in the Beauty industry as consumers look for premium products and services that standout from the rest. The mission of the annual Independent Innovation Awards Program is to honor innovation and recognize excellence, hard work and success in a range of beauty industry categories, including Bath & Body, Hair, Lip, & Make-Up and many more. The 2021 Beauty Innovation Awards attracted over 2,000 nominations from around the world.

“Until recently, customers were spraying body fragrance directly into their hair which can cause damage, dryness and sometimes the fragrance would become too cloying. Consumers need a product that can provide healthy nutrients to the hair while also providing a beautiful aroma,” said Travis Grant, Managing Director, Independent Innovation. “DefineMe’s products fulfill this need as they are not just hair fragrances; they’re products that promote healthy, shiny hair, have anti-frizz properties as well as leaving the hair smelling amazing. Congratulations on winning our coveted ‘Hair Care Product of the Year’ award for 2021.”

DefineMe Hair Fragrance Mists are available in six signature scents with the 7th scent, Kahana, launching in Q1 of 2022.
